ACLS as component of treatment in the pre-hospital setting and in the Hospital ?
The American Heart Association's Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support ACLS Medical Training course is totally redesigned for health care providers who either direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient, whether in or out of hospital. After completing Step 1 The dynamic and engaging lecture portion and Step 2 Hands on demonstration and practice participating as part of a code team, the student will own the tools of successful management of multiple life threatening cardiac, cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary emergencies of an Adult. The hands on portion Step 2 allows the student to actually participate and interact with other team members in multiple simulated resuscitation situations. Student will learn, practice and implement effective team communication in simulated resuscitation. Participants will take turns in different roles participating as team members as well as team leader.
The First part of the course, proficiency in basic life support (CPR) and it's critical central role in the chain of survival in the resuscitation effort is recognized. Time is allowed for practice and mastery of the skill in providing effective compressions in CPR. The Second part of the course focuses on the management of critical cardiopulmonary events such cardiac arrest; chest pain and acute coronary syndromes (ACS); recognizing other life-threatening clinical assessment features of (CVA) ( Stroke) and providing initial care and treatment. The Student will learn, master and implement treatment of sudden adult cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, V-Tach, V-Fib, asystole, Pulseless Electrical Activity (PEA), bradycardia's stable and unstable tachycardia, the use and limitations of AED's will be discussed for pre-hospital events.

This course is designed for healthcare providers such as MD's, DO's, PA's, NP's, LVN's, EMT's, Paramedic's, respiratory therapists, and other medical professionals who may respond to a cardiovascular emergency out in the comunity or in the hospital.
